Privacy policy: Jetlaggle has no accounts and asks you for nothing. Your stats stay in your own browser. Google's analytics and ad tags, and a few content networks, do see your visit. The detail is below.
Who runs this site
Jetlaggle is run by Minefront, based in Australia. For any privacy question, or to ask what is held about you, write to [email protected].
What is kept on your device
The game saves two items in your browser's local storage:
state (today's puzzle in progress) and
stats (games played, win rate, streaks, guess
distribution).
These never leave your browser. We cannot read them. Clearing your browser storage for this site erases them permanently, including your streak, and there is no copy for us to restore.
Gameplay logging
Each guess you submit on the daily game is sent to our server and kept: the puzzle number, the route, the time you guessed, which attempt it was, whether it was high, low or a win, and the country the request came from. Nothing in that record identifies you: no account, no name, no cookie and no identifier is stored with it.
Your IP address is used only to cap how many guesses one connection can send in an hour. It is turned into a one-way salted hash for that check and is not stored with any guess. Previews of other days' routes are not logged.
This data exists to publish how players did on each day's route.
What is not collected
- No accounts or login.
- No name, address, or date of birth.
- No payment details. The daily game is free.
Newsletter
After a game you can choose to give us your address for the Jetlaggle newsletter. It is optional, and the prompt goes away for good if you decline. Addresses are held by beehiiv, our newsletter provider, under its privacy policy. Every issue has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you. Nothing about your gameplay is attached to your address.
Your IP address is used only to cap how many sign-ups one connection can make in an hour, as the same kind of one-way salted hash used for guesses. It is not stored with your address.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (property
G-J8Q97VV1GQ) to count visits and see which pages get
used. It sets cookies and gives Google your IP address, browser,
device type and approximate location. It is used in aggregate; we do
not try to identify individual players.
You can opt out for every site with Google's browser add-on.
Advertising
This site shows Google AdSense ads (publisher
ca-pub-6011450661775549). Google and its partners use
cookies to serve ads, and may personalise them based on your prior
browsing. Manage this at
My Ad Center,
or read
how Google uses advertising data.
If the advertising provider changes, this page is updated to name the new one.
Other services your browser contacts
Loading and playing the game pulls files from other networks. Each one necessarily sees your IP address and rough location:
- Google Fonts, for the VT323 typeface.
- Google Hosted Libraries and cdnjs (Cloudflare), for jQuery and animation styles. The map library and the aircraft pictures are served from this site.
- OpenStreetMap, for the map tiles behind each route. Its privacy policy covers what it keeps.
- Netlify, which hosts the site, and Cloudflare, which routes the domain. Both keep standard server logs.
Children
Jetlaggle is suitable for all ages, but it is not directed at children and asks nobody for personal details.
Your choices
Because we hold no account and no personal record, there is nothing for us to look up, correct or erase on request. What you can do: clear this site's storage to wipe your stats, block or clear cookies to stop the analytics and ad tags, or use a content blocker.
If you believe something on this page is wrong or incomplete, write to [email protected] and it will be corrected.
Changes
This page is updated when what the site collects changes, and the date below changes with it.
