Jetlaggle questions, answered: when the route changes, how winning works, where your stats live, and who is behind the game.

What is Jetlaggle?

Jetlaggle is a free daily guessing game. Each day you get one real flight route, with the airline and the aircraft, and six tries to guess how long the flight takes. Puzzle #1 was on 6 July 2025 and there has been one every day since.

When does the new route appear?

At midnight on your device's clock. The puzzle number is the number of days since 6 July 2025, so on any given date everyone is playing the same route.

What counts as a correct guess?

Within 5% of the real flight time for flights of five hours or less, and within 15 minutes for anything longer. The rules page has worked examples and explains the arrows and colours.

Where does the flight time come from?

Each puzzle uses the flight time recorded for that route, airline and aircraft when the puzzle was written. Real schedules drift by a few minutes with the season and the winds, so a booking site may show a slightly different figure. The puzzle always judges you against its own recorded time.

Can I play yesterday's puzzle, or older ones?

Replaying is not available yet. The archive lists every route so far by date and number, and from #431 (9 September 2026) each past day has its own page with the answer, how everyone did and one fact about the route.

Where are my stats kept, and why did my streak vanish?

Your stats are stored in your browser's local storage, on the device you played on. There is no account and no copy on our side, so they do not follow you to another browser or phone, and clearing site data or playing in a private window wipes them.

A streak also resets to zero if you lose, leave a day's game unfinished, or skip a day. See your stats.

I have seen this route before. Why?

The rotation currently holds 100 routes, so a route comes back around after 100 days. The puzzle number keeps counting up regardless.

Is Jetlaggle free?

Yes. The daily game is free and stays free.

What data does the game collect?

No account, no name, no email. Each guess on the daily game is logged anonymously (puzzle, route, the time you guessed, attempt number, high, low or win, and country) so we can publish how players did on each route. Nothing in that record identifies you. Google Analytics and Google ads also see your visit. The privacy page has the full list.

Who makes Jetlaggle?

Jetlaggle is run by Minefront, based in Australia. It is built on Costcodle by Kerm, released under the MIT licence, and owes the format to Wordle. The aircraft photos are by Wikimedia Commons photographers, listed on the credits page. Write to [email protected].

A route looks wrong. Where do I report it?

Email [email protected] with the puzzle number and what you think is off.
